"Excellent Care"

I chose to have my recent shoulder operation at Wansbeck Hospital after some research into the hospital, despite the fact it is almost 100 miles from my home. I'm delighted to say I wasn't disappointed. The surgeon was superb. I was very nervous about the operation and hesitated about having it done at all but he was incredibly reassuring, which gave me the confidence to proceed. He is clearly a very skilled practitioner as I am making great progress and the scarring is barely visible; the district nurse also commented on how good a job he did with a 10 out of 10 from her. I must also mention the fabulous care I received from the Ward Sister and her nursing staff on Ward 7 - they made me feel very much at home and at ease, particularly given my trepidation at being in hospital in the first place. The food was excellent and I never wanted for anything. The staff were also incredibly welcoming and helpful to my husband and family who had travelled quite a distant to be with me. The ward, and hospital in general, was spotlessly clean - which again, was very reassuring. I cannot thank you enough for the excellent standard of care you provided; truly outstanding and wholeheartedly appreciated. Many, many thanks. Wishing you all a Happy New Year.
