I have always had a great amount of time and respect for nursing staff and last night was no exception. I was admitted to the Medical Assessment Unit at Horton General Hospital, Banbury with a chest infection.
This is the first time I have been admitted as an adult (I was 2 the last time i had to spend anytime in hospital) and the night shift staff were absolutly lovely. In particular i cannot praise highly enough my nurse Jane. She very friendly, funny and obviously very good at her job.
I am not great with needles, so when she needed to take some blood i was not the happiest person about. But she made me relax and it didn't hurt half as much as i thought it was going to. During the night it became obvious that the entire night staff had a great, caring attitude. They treated every patient as an individual, there was no patronising, and treated everyone with a great amount of care and attention.
All in all i just wanted to say thank you to the Night shift nurses on Friday 26th June in MAU at the Horton for their dedication to their jobs, and that although i didn't get any sleep - i did do a lot of laughing - which always makes you feel better.
"Excellent and dedicated night staff at Horton General"
