"Run away from respite"

About: Moseley Hall Hospital

(as a carer),

My husband was in respite for a two week planned stay. Previously I had been concerned about the poor quality of care. I had hoped that because I did not make an official complaint they would do better. They did not.

Yesterday I went to see hubby at 2pm in the afternoon, he was still in bed not washed with a dirty face and a wet vest and also in a state of undress.

I was told they were short staffed and a fire drill had caused delays.

There are 14 very vulnerable people in this respite hospital, all needing very complex care and I can not except that three members of staff could look after these people properly.

The managment has failed the staff who are themselves very dedicated I must say. But I took my hubby home yesterday. My thoughts at this moment are that I may not be doing as good as I should, he is very hard work but I can and will do better than that.
