"Now I am scared to go anywhere near the hospital"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

In December, I was at home 5 hours in pain, vomiting, shivering and in the end I called an ambulance. The crew gave me a painkiller and gas and took me to Tameside Hospital A & E. At that point, I was almost without pain. Admitted late at night to the cubicle where I spent almost 12 hours on the trolley. Meanwhile the blood test was done and ECD.

Waited 'til the middle of the night when till the Consultant came and announced I have abnormal Liver Test results and some deviation in ECD, but they have nothing to compare with. I told him that in August I had been in the Admission Unit and they have done the Blood Test and ECG. Apparently it wasn't possible to access these results, so I needed repeated test in 6 hours, but nevertheless my diagnosis was "gastrithis". I told him also I had a abdomen scan earlier in the month because of the deviation of the Liver Blood Test and awaiting the results. Later, I had X-ray on my abdomen and was declared I have a blockage due to the constipation. After the required 6 hours passed and nobody came i. e. nothing happened after so many calls for attention, the Manager came and I asked to be discharged while being still on the trolley. They called another consultant who discharged me and suggested to buy laxative from the pharmacy and that was it. Before that, I asked the Manager for a copy of my Blood Test but this was declined as it is against the hospital rules, yet in August, I was given all my results when I was in Admission Unit. I wonder who makes the rules in the Hospital?

On Monday I visited my GP and apparently a have gallstones (shown on Ultrasound Scan) and 2-4 times normal range of Liver Test done in December. So much of the "gastritis". Now I am scared to go anywhere near the hospital. I spent 12 hours in A&E without a proper, real diagnosis. I think that it is no wonder you have problems in A&E Dept with admission and discharging patients.

I am astonished by the lack of organisation and and how is possible in 2014 the test/consultation done in the Hospital was not accessible by A&E? Is it the ability of the staff or is it not proper IT?
