"Nothing was too much trouble"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

In June I attended Queens Medical Hospital for a hip replacement. It was very clean and the atmosphere was friendly. All of the medical staff and nurses were excellent. I think I received excellent care. The consultant told me to call him by his first name “Andrew” and nothing was too much trouble. He made me feel so relaxed and answered all my questions. The operation went well. On the way down to theatre it was cold so I told them that I felt cold. When I woke up from the operation, I was wrapped in a bag to keep me warm. It was really cosy and I felt very comfortable. I also had an appointment at the cardiology department later in June, on the 22nd. I knew that I would not be able to make this as I would be on crutches, so I mentioned this to my consultant Andrew who within a few minutes had arranged for me to go down to the cardiology department to be seen when I was in hospital for the hip-replacement. I received excellent follow up care, especially from the physiotherapy lady Jenny who was also very excellent.
