"General surgery"

About: Lister Hospital

I had a bad experience with an operation that went wrong back in 2011 unfortunately I needed another operation to repair an incisional hernia the consultant I was under this time was aware of my fears and tried to resure me about this and kept telling me what would happen and what he would hope to achive with this. I had my surgery 24th December and hopefully it went well a lot of things were different this time from start to finish I was allowed home on 28th December. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the long wait for the pharmacy I had to wait over 5 hours for my prescription before I could go home. I want to say thank you to the staff who was on ward 8b south for the work and freindliness over the Christmas period I was in for as well all the volunteers that also helped. Although my fear of hospitals will always be there now it did help with the help I received at the pre- op and being told what would happen before hand

We're glad that you felt your surgery this time went so much better than you feared. It's always a worry have any sort of procedure in hospital, but you had extra reasons to be nervous - which is why we're so pleased that the team looking after you seemed very aware of this fact and worked hard to help this be a somewhat better experience. We'll make sure that the whole team, including those on ward 8B south, get to read your feedback.
