About: Basildon University Hospital

I took my son there in extreme pain with what turned out to be a kidney stone. He was in agony - but that counts for nothing in A&E. After waiting 4 hours, we were shown to a small room where a doctor saw him. He realised how much pain he was in and went to get morphine. After 30 mins, I was getting a bit concerned, and went to look for him. I found him sitting at a computer terminal, and he had "forgotten" about my son. Eventually he was given morphine to help the pain, and then discharged at 1.00 AM. I le4ft him at his home, only to find that he had top call an ambulanve again at 5.00 AM. Again he waited 4 hours to be admitted - and finally he was admitted and given some treatmen. An absolute disgrace - and don't bother to complain - absolutely useless. I have since written to my MP to point out what is wrong with the NHS - a dog would have received better and more sympathetic treatment! Fortunately, my local MP has experienced much the same at North Mid - so he knew what I was talking about. My son happened to be born in Basildon hospital, and in those days it was 100 times better than it is now. The hospital management and medical staff should be ashamed of themselves.
