"incredible doctors awful appointments and..."

About: Mile End Hospital

I have been a patient at Mile End for ten years and the reception has never been good. It is better now than before but i still can't telephone to check appointments. No-one answers and when I'm there no-one makes eye contact, phones ring endlessly and staff act as if they are just bored and patients are disrupting their boredom. It has been like this forever so it can't be the individuals - there's something inherently wrong with the system. Maybe reception shouldn't deal with both patients at the hospital and telephone calls. They also have to deal with doctors and nurses requests and blood tests and transport. It's so disorganised. Could one person deal with all the people and another the calls. and share all the other work. And please make eye contact, acknowledge us and smile - we'll wait then for your attention. If you are going to make rheumatology patients wait and ignore them at least devise a system where you don't make them stand for so long. We have wobbly legs! and stop sellotaping stuff to the walls! get pin board so the walls remain undamaged. Horrid horrid unisex toilets. undignified. get rid of them please.
