"Emergency admission"

About: St James's University Hospital

My husband aged 75 was admitted on Sunday 28 December 2014 and was treated with the utmost respect and care. He was admitted to Ward 47 following assessment in A&E for 3 days and received excellent care. My husband has several medical conditions and attends various clinics at St James. The care he receives is excellent. In my observations many people at A&E do not appear to be an 'Emergency'. It must be very frustrating for the staff who work under tremendous pressure. Thank you

Dear Sharon

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. I hope your husband is well.

I would like to thank you for your kind words of support and encouragement.

I have shared your comments with the Matron for St James's A&E department and also the Matron for ward 47 who will be delighted to know that they delivered a level of care that met your needs and fulfilled your expectations

Again please accept my sincere thanks.

With kind regards

Rosie
