We chose to have our baby at St Michael's mainly because we live very close, but in the event the care we received could not have been bettered in any way.
There was kindness and efficiency at the early pregnancy unit when I experienced bleeding at 6 weeks - the friendly ultrasonographer during our scan - the accessible and comprehensive reassurance when there were concerns about reduced baby movements - fantastic physiotherapy advice and support when I ran into problems - and of course the delivery itself.
Every decision we made was informed and supported, midwives and doctors without exception excellent and after the normal delivery they managed to achieve for us I had superb 24 hour support on the post-natal wards to start breastfeeding, get some rest and begin being a mum.
Other couples from my antenatal classes have had similar experiences with very different births - nobody has a bad word to say. Thank you so much!
