"Ankle Replacement Best in the UK"

I have already given a review to one site but have now found out that there are three websites on NHS choices for this hospital and dont know which site is the correct one. I have had problems with my ankle for 15 years after an accident and I have visited numerous specialists over the years. I was advised by one consultant to have the bones fused together but he didn't tell me about any other options and the four previous operations he had done did not work so I had not the greatest of faith in him. I did my own research and found out the Stanmore is a centre of excellence in ankle replacements and ankle arthritis and begged to be referred there and I am so lucky that I did. My experience of Stanmore Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital has been exceptional from start to finish. I met the consultant and they spent 30 minutes with me. I don't think I have ever met a doctor in 15 years that had ever given me more than a few minutes of attention. They listened and cared about what I had to say and gave me more information in that 30 minutes than 20 doctors in four hospitals had managed in 15 years. I had my surgery in September 2013 and am finally pain free and walking brilliantly and my quality of life has been transformed. The staff at the hospital are second to none. The professionalism is exceptional and aside from one healthcare assistant who never smiled, every one was happy and oozed confidence in everything they did. I could not recommend this hospital more strongly and they are real experts in what they do. My only criticism would be the buildings which I understand are soon to be rebuilt and this is desperately needed. I just wish all the hundreds of thousands of pounds spent on my wasted operations in four hospitals could have been channeled to Stanmore towards it's rebuild as it would have been far more sensible for my GP to have referred me there in the first place.
