Went to BRI for an anthroscopic operation on my knee and I was very impressed with the way that I was looked after throughout my stay. The ward I stayed on was ward 5 which was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Before the operation the surgeon came up to the ward and ran me through the paperwork that I needed to sign and answered a few questions that I asked, he was very helpful and informative and gave me choices on what I would like him to do in certain scenarios. (As i wasnt going to be conscious to make the decisions when I was put out by general anescetic). Upon awakening from the operation the staff were very helpful and I had a word with the surgeon again who advised me on how the operation went and what would be the next step. I was then taken back to ward 5 and given time to recover from the anescetic. The nurses were very helpful and made sure that I was okay and I was given some coffee, biscuits and a sandwich to eat. I was then advised by the nurses that I could go home and they gave me all the neccessary paperwork, pain killers, wound dressings and some contact numbers I could contact if i had any concerns about the operation or questions. Going by my own experience I would recommend to a friend as I was highly impressed with the professional attitude shown by the staff on ward 5 and the surgeon who carried out my operation. Thank you.
"Very good care"
