Almost exactly a year ago in January 2014 I was rushed into ERI from East Lothian by ambulance after suffering multiple Cardiac Arrests. Within hours of arriving I had emergency surgery as a stent was fitted and I was moved to the ICU where I remained for the next 15 days in an induced coma until I was gradually awoke.
As I never got the chance at the time I feel the anniversary of my big medical drama is a suitable time to say a massive THANK YOU to all the doctors and nurses who helped me and my family through a very very difficult time.
I cannot express in words adequately how much I appreciate the skill, dedication and care I received. It was only in the months since leaving the hospital that I slowly got to learn just how ill I was and began to realise just what a fantastic job everyone at ERI did for me. This of course includes the staff in the Cardiac Ward where I was subsequently moved to for further recovery.
Today, I am fully recovered and whenever anybody meets me they cannot believe that I went through such a serious ordeal as I look and behave just as I did before.
I truly thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for giving me and my family lots more time together. You were all amazing.
Thank you very much.
