"Polypectomy"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

I attended hospital today to have a large colonic polyp removed from my bowel by sigmoidoscopy, Never having had experience of anything like this before I was very nervous of the operation. The surgeon who performed the operation was very slick and professional and seemed to take no time to cleanly remove the polyp. The attending nurses were also very professional, but of equal importance were kind and caring. I would like to thank them all for making my experience in hospital as least unpleasant as it could have been and for successfully removing the large polyp that has been causing me discomfort for a long time.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are proud of the care staff provided at what must have been such a difficult time for you. We are extremely grateful that you have taken the time to provide this feedback. Our staff work hard to try to ensure that a patient’s experience whilst at the hospital is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and they are always considerably heartened and motivated on learning how much their efforts have been appreciated. We have passed your kind sentiments to staff in our Colorectal department. If we can be of further assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 432 0251, email wih-tr.pals@nhs.net or in writing to PALS, Arrowe Park Hospital, Arrowe Park Road, Upton, Wirral, CH49 5PE.
