My Granddad is under the care of the heart failure team, at his recent out-patient appointment his pulse was picked up as being dangerously low. Within half an hour of returning home he received a call from EAU to come in straight, a bed had been found and the Doctors were reviewing him within two hours, the staff on EAU were great. He was transfered quickly to the coronary care unit and was made comfortable straight away, so kind that the nurses recognised him and knew his previous history with dementia. The consultant and team were quick to review him the following morning (Christmas Eve!) and decided the best course of action being a pacemaker, he was taken down that afternoon in hopes of getting him home for Christmas. Thanks to their quick management he was indeed able to get home for Christmas, and was so happy to be there. A massive thank you to all the team from the heart failure nurses & the nurses on the wards to the consultant and their team.
"Wonderful service - Thank you"
