My husband and I arrived an hour before his appointment which was at 11.30. We were early as we had an appointment at the Royal Hallamshire first. We expected to be sat for at least an hour but we didn't expect to be still sitting there at 14.00! We were eventually seen at 14.30 by which time we were stiff and aching and once in to see the doctor we couldn't process any of the information. We were hungry, thirsty and aching from head to toe and we had a car journey to endure through Sheffield at the busiest time on a Friday afternoon. The reason the appointments were running so far behind according to the white board was long consultations. That was a lie as I found out at 14.00. They had allocated 4 people to every time slot as they wanted to see as many people as they could before Christmas. Why they didn't give people proper time slots is beyond me. They still had to see the same amount of people regardless of the times given. We have another appointment on 2nd January and won't guarantee that we won't be sat waiting for another 3 hours. It's not good enough.
