I was sent by my GP to a Hospital A & E as I had a head injury and other suspicious injuries. I chose New Cross as I have no confidence in Walsall Manor.
The room was so full I had to ask for a chair. The people there did not seem to have any "emergency" apart from one fellow with a cut hand. I was seen quite quickly due to head injury.
I was taken to see the triage nurse who quickly got me into the department. I was seen by a nurse who told me everything that he was going to do and what would happen next.
After a short time a Doctor appeared. She immediately said her name was Sarah and she was efficient and thorough. She said she had ordered a scan and blood tests. I knew how long this would take. Surprise though, I was taken through to the Scan Department (which was only at the end of the corridor).
Reassured as I am claustrophobic, told exactly what was going to happen and taken back to the A & E. Then I had a blood test and to my surprise did not have to wait long for the results. I was then cleared to go as scan and blood tests were clear. I did not have to wait for a discharge letter (as previously this had taken ages) nor for any drugs (as the wait for these are usually hours). I then returned to the car park to a large parking fee.
The only complaint I have is that if you are being treated in Hospital for anything like A & E then car parking should be reduced.
