"Appalled"

About: Tavistock Hospital

I went in to the hospital over a foot injury that had happened two days previously. At the time my foot was twice the size and black. When my girlfriend dropped me off at the hospital a and e department I was told I would have to wait. There was no one else in the waiting room and I could see one person being seen while the other two nurses were just talking. The other client being seen to left after 15 minutes and I waited a further half an hour without being seen. When a nurse finally came and asked me if I was being seen to and I said no, she promised she would get someone to see me, they finally came another twenty minutes later. When a nurse finally came she asked me to walk into the room by this point I was crying in pain and could not walk and she just tutted after I said I couldn't and placed a wheel chair next to my seat and didn't even help me get into it! Once inside the department she asked me how I did the injury and when she declared she didn't believe me that my girlfriends brothers pitbull dragged me along the park path she told me she believed I was drunk because that's was kids do! When I went for the X-ray the man performing them didn't help me into the X-ray seat just told me to do it myself! Then twisted my foot without warning to take the pictures! The final diagnosis was I had just pulled the ligements and was given a pair of crutches but the pain got worse I went to derriford to be told if actually fractured my foot! And to top it off while waiting for the X-ray the man told an elderly woman to get changed who was clearly not capable of doing so and left her to do it. I had to help her myself as she nearly fell over trying to achieve it herself!!!
