My 84 year old father tripped and fell on Christmas Day. He had clearly broken or dislocated his shoulder and was in a lot of pain. Within 10 minutes paramedics arrived, dealt extremely sympathetically with both him and my mother, took them to East Surrey Hospital (with me following! ). At the hospital itself, the staff all dealt with him with respect, dignity and good humour. They kept us very closely informed as to what was going on, sorted out his shoulder and arranged for his notes and xrays to be transferred to his local hospital in Worthing rather than have him return to East Surrey to attend the fracture clinic. This was the NHS at its very best - everyone we dealt with was hugely helpful and professional and we finally went home less than 5 hours after having arrived. Very impressive given that this was a holiday period and everyone involved with us had of course given up their Christmas day. A huge thanks to everyone!
"Outstanding service on Christmas day!"
