My mum was taken to the AE on Thursday night . The department was clearly under great pressure but this didn't impact on the care she received in any way . Superb management by the medical and nursing team with every step explained to my mum in a considerate way. Both my brother ( consultant ) and I ( nurse) were very impressed but unfortunately didn't get the opportunity to thank the ED consultant and nurse in charge at the time . Please can this be shared with the team the lead consultant and associate director for patient experience . After A&E - a few hours spent in the medical assessment ward followed by four days of superb care on ward 10 . The environment was spotless and the nursing staff clearly ran a tight ship ! Every nurse introduced themselves to my mum and gave truely individualised care . It was like going back in time for me - bedside nursing at its best . Important to also mention the support staff for example - the kind and cheerful radiology porter who helped me track my mum down on the first day of her inpatient stay , the housekeepers on ward 10 and random staff who bothered to stop in the corridors when I looked lost . Thankyou very much - you are all a credit to your hospital . If there was just one thing that could be done better it would be to focus on ensuring patients who are medically fit for discharge have their medicines and 'sign off ' by the medical team promptly . Not a particular issue for my mum but I did witness long waits for others . No surprise then that my mum , my brother and I would highly recommend Wrexham Park Hospital to our friends and family .
