"The made me feel at ease while they took care of my husband"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

I called 111 for advice between 5 and 6 am today as my husband was suffering from sickness and diarrhea, so much so that he was delirious. The operator sent an ambulance out to check on my husband – the two people, Stuart and Zena, were absolutely superb. They spent at least an hour giving him a thorough check and phoned the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to let them know he may need to be hospitalized as he was dehydrated. The hospital was concerned that he could be suffering from novo virus and potentially affect others in the hospital. Because of this Stuart said he would continue to monitor my husband’s blood pressure and if there was no improvement in that he would have to take him to hospital. In the end this is what they did.

Stuart and Zena were lovely, they made me feel so at ease while they took care of my husband.

Dear Tray 839

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your husband is starting to feel much better. I am glad that you found the crew looked after you as well. It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients, and their families, when they need us most.

I will pass your kind words onto the 111 service as well as Zena and Stuart who came to your aid, and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave. I am sure they will really appreciate your comments.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
