"bulging discs and pain management"

About: NHS Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven CCG

(as the patient),

I have been going for over two years to pain management and had epidurals and facet joint injections. None have worked. My consultant said there was nothing more that he could do and that he would write a letter to my doctor suggesting that I saw another consultant. My doctor told me the waiting time was over 6 months just for an appointment. I asked how long for a private one, got an appointment a week later. The consultant said I needed another scan. He was a neurosurgeon. This I had, then had to go back three days later to see him. The result he couldn't help, as the nerves had enough space. He says to go and see someone else and gave a phone number. I phoned and the cost for this would be about £3000. I have just spent £1100 to be told he cannot help. I cannot afford anything else. I paid the £1100 because I thought that I would get some relief from the constant pain I am in. I have been off work for over three months and I am getting no relief even from the morphine I am on. My doctor says for me to go to another pain management hospital and sent off my details of the scan reports. I then had a letter to make appointment, I phoned and at the time of writing this, have not heard anything. This was over two weeks ago. I have been told I have bulging discs on L4/5 bilaterally and 5/6 also problems with SI joints and a lot more which I cannot remember. I am 64yrs old and have worked all my life and now I cannot even get someone to understand the pain I am in or where I go from here, I am so depressed with it all I just want someone to help me. I live in the West Yorkshire area and will have to go to a Lancashire hospital when I finally get appointment.
