I've enjoyed excellent health but inevitably there have been many occasions over 90 years when I've needed care. This has always been first-class.
In the last few years I've had two replacement knees, a cataract removal, a small ulcer removed during endoscopy, ulnar nerve decompression, and diagnosis of a restricted aortic valve in my heart.
Post-operative physiotherapy for orthopaedic surgery was at a remote hospital with excellent liaison.
After a couple of falls I was glad to be able to arrange with Social Services for a personal remote alarm system to be installed in my home.
My only grumble is about continuing charges for dental and ophthalmic services - but that's a political question.
