Once inside the Endoscopy and Day Surgery unit there are no clear signs to Day Surgery, so I waited at Endoscopy. Arrived at 7.30 (just before actually) as told on letter but no reception till at least 7.50. Was directed to top floor Day Surgery but still no signs to lift to get there. It Was a confusing event to arrive in correct reception, but this reception was still not open. Someone else before me had same experience as did people after. Staff once on the ward were excellent and knowing how worried I was, they kept a close eye on me for which I was very gratefull. Their professionalism and friendly ways made it a successfull experience for my first time in hospital and after all the check in procedures, we passed time chatting about Christmas and families, both close to my heart. Please do not mis read this as staff having too much time to spare. I could see how they looked after others as well as they did me particularly to someone having a harder time than me after the op. You are a credit to the hospital and I hope this is fed back to you. Kind regards Gillian
