Hi, I am a 30 year old woman, new to the area and I have 9 month old Daughter,
I was a little aprehensive to begin with about coming to a singing group,
I thought I might feel silly.
However this has been far from the case, from the word go I was made to feel welcome and so was my Daughter. The group leaders remembered my Daughters name from the word go.
To begin with my Daughter was introverted, but after one session she started to learn things, she firstly started to bounce up and down, the group leader noticed out of the corner of her eye and made the next song a bouncing song! she scaffolded my daughters newly found skill.
Secondly, My Daughter learnt to clap from this group... I was amazed!
She also learnt to sing "ee eye ee eye oww", after group we went to the doctors and my daughter sang to all the patients!
I have been to many groups in different areas but this area and this group have proved to be so very valuable.
My Daughter has come out of her shell loads, the good thing about this group is that all ages are welcome, I feel it is important for my child to interact with older children.
My child has now shown an understanding of 1, 2, 3 from this group. Without realising it I do it at home before food etc and she understands what is coming next and smiles.
At the moment this group is teaching my daughter to concertrate, sit nicely and sing. The staff are good at making it exciting and keeping the children focussed. There is something for everyone.
