"Cleanliness could be better"

I was recently admitted to hospital for the third time in two years. I can honestly say that I have always been treated with the ultimate care and respect. But then I maintain to do as you would be done by” i.e. you treat the staff as you wish them to treat you. I still feel that the cleanliness could be better. I know that the cleaners do have a mammoth task keeping the hospitals clean and I sometimes feel that the old method of having cleaning staff part of the ward team so that you can call on them required would be quite good. They would be responsible for their own ward and take more pride in their work but this is probably not feasible. There should also be more adherences by visitors to cleaning their hands on entering and leaving the wards.
