"Cataract removed from both eyes"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

On the 16/12/08 I had my first consultation with Mr Marshall at QMC. He examined my eyes and informed me of the procedure he will perform and answered any questions that I had. I had my first operation on my left eye where the loose found lens was repaired and the cataract removed. They were both successful. I had a follow up check up on the 19/02/09 which I thought was a good examination. We then discussed the next operation on the right eye which was agreed and the consent form was signed. On the 31/04/09 I had the operation on the right eye which was performed by another surgeon Miss C. S Lim. The cataract was removed successfully. I had my follow up examination with her too where drops were applied to both eyes to check at the back of them. A scan was then done to check the discolouration. Nothing was found wrong and it was thought it may have been the results of head trauma I had in 1950 where the left eye was damaged. I was given the all clear and informed when I could visit the opticians for new reading spectacles. The standard of treatment and care were very good, only parking was a problem. Both eyes are very good for general purpose but I require reading spectacles.
