"Maternity department"

About: Leicester General Hospital

I was on the delivery ward for 3 days in September having been booked in to be induced. During that time I could not have been treated any better than I was. Every single member of staff that I came in contact with, although extremely busy was fantastic. From the midwifes to the lady that brought my dinner. I was sent for an emergency ceasaren on sunday 7th September and the staff in the operating theatre were patient and reassuring as I began to panic. In particular the aneathasist. He spent time calming me and reassuring me and I felt comforted by the way he spoke to me and talked me through the whole procedure. For that I am very grateful. When on the ward after delivery I believe that the staff went beyond the call of duty. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and I was so grateful for the care I recieved. Having a baby can be a scary time and I am truly grateful for the care, support and patience I was treated with before during and after the birth of my son. Thank you x

Dear reviewer, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Although it sounds like your birthing experience didnt quite go to plan, its great to read about the fantastic job our caring team did for you :-) We have passed your comments onto the head of midwifery, Elaine and senior midwife at the General, Joan to share with the wider team. Hope you and the family enjoy the little one's first Christmas!! Best wishes Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
