"Good and bad care"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency Good Hope Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I came into A&E on Saturday night and received great care and service from friendly staff, I then went into the CDU ward and they looked after me really well, when I then got transferred to ward 15 after my operation (which had to be delayed due to lack of beds) but then just before midnight this morning, I was transferred to ward 7, I can only hope no one reading this ever ends up here. I think the staff attitude is appealing and they can't manage pain relief efficiently i feel which causes us patients even more discomfort. I would like to have said my whole experience was brilliant, however ward 7 has really ruined it for the hospital, and with experiences like this, I can understand why people are suggesting they close.

Thanks 4 bed mystery for leaving your feedback.

The hospital has been under pressure for the past two weeks &, whilst I'm pleased that your ED experience was positive (this is the area under the most strain) I'm sorry to read about your time on Ward 7.

This is an area we open at times of pressure and I'll pick up with the team first thing this morning to make sure we have the right / best staffing arrangements in place.

Apologies once again & best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Regards

Richard
