"Poor communication"

About: Alexandra Hospital

My relative recently stayed on Ward 11 at the Alexandra Hospital. I was very disappointed at the poor communication between staff and relatives. Also the lack of genuine caring attitude was apparent from most of the qualified staff. There were some support workers who did appear helpful and the most welcoming on the ward and to them I was grateful. I work within the NHS myself and know how busy and at times stressful work can be but I do not think staff should lose sight of the fact that people deserve to be treated with respect whatever their condition. I appreciate that my relative did not come on to the ward for surgery which I believe is Ward 11 speciality. They were still entitled to consistent care and I felt this was at times lacking.
