"Thank you Good Hope for an exceptional care"

About: Good Hope Hospital

I am writing this on behalf of my husbnd who was an inpatient at Good Hope for 3 weeks with Guillain Barre syndrome. His first experience was in the Medical Unit prior to admission. The staff in this unit were very good and quick in diagnosing the problem which in our opinion helped in with them commencing treatment very quickly and stopping further deterioration of his condition. Following transfer to Ward 9 the care he received was exceptional at all levels the nursing, physios and occupational health all treated him with respect and dignity as he was unable to anything for himself. With out the level of care and support we do not think he would be at his current level of recovery. The NHS and Good Hope have proved on this occasion that they can be outstanding. Following his discharge to Perry Tree's reablement centre he spent 7 weeks receiving intense physio; OT and care again he has nothing but praise for the staff and the level of care and support he received. We can't speak for other people's experience but from our perspective Good Hope lived up to its name and gave my husband hope that the system can work and also give a high standard of care. We regulrly read other peoples commentso n the GBS forum site and see that the level of care can vary greatly across the country maybe this is due to lack of experieince in diagnosing GBS as it is not a condition that is see very often so our suggestion is that they move to sutton coldfield where they will received exceptional care. Well done Good Hope and thank you.

Many thanks for leaving your feedback.

I know GBS can be a worrying and complex condition that requires a great deal of knowledgeable support and input over a lengthy period of time.

I'm pleased to read your feedback regarding how well our team performed & I'll make sure this is feed back.

All the very best to your husband for a speedy recovery.

Regards

Richard
