"Poor experience of maternity care"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Maternity

(as the patient),

I had low lying placenta, had planned c section that went horrendously wrong with me losing 8 litres of blood and going to itu and baby being resusatated and in nicu.

Midwifes were awful to hubby as just told him to get out didnt tell him what was happening didnt see my baby for 2 days and was transfered to delivery suite where all the mums and babys were together.

Had a ballon and drain in was told to go 4 shower which I did drain fell out told midwife she said oh well needed to come out anyway.

When being transfered to ward midwifes were more interested in going home, put their bags on bottom of my bed, totally ignored me just wanted to go home then anaethatist came round to tell me they had sited epidural wrong and if I got a headache to tell them as would have to put a patch of blood back in.

I complained to hospital, never ever heard a thing.

Dear moomin,

We are incredibly sorry to read how you felt let down by your experience with us. We do take all complaints very serioudly and cannot understand why you have not received a response from the PILS team.

Instead, we ask that you please contact senior midwife, Joan Morrissey directly on joan.morrissey@uhl-tr.nhs.uk or by calling 0116 258 4865. Joan would like to meet with you in person to discuss your issues, either at the hospital or at your own home. Whichever works best for you.

Kind regards
