"Taken to A&E with low blood sugar"

About: Northern General Hospital / Accident and emergency Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

It was a year ago when my mum died with dementia. She was in a home for only five weeks aged 89.

I had been to the nursing home to see the staff. I had been out from 8.30am after breakfast and I had a coffee at the home. I got back to my flat about 3.30pm not feeling too good. My sister-in-law called. She could tell I was not as good as I usually am. I then had my sister on the phone. I had something to eat, then all of a sudden I decided to go back out when I fell and I remember picking myself up. Then I must have passed out.

When I came round the ambulance was there cleaning me up. My sugar count was too low. I was then taken to A&E at the Northern General Hospital.
