"Care, comfort and compassion."

About: Kettering General Hospital

My wife has just spent 7 weeks in KGH. From Deene B to Intensive Care to Cranford Unit both upper and lower, the medical attention could not have been better. Not all operations run 100% and the first one did not, but the second one appears to have worked. We were kept informed all the time, either by phone or by doctors/nurses on the wards Two main comments I would make are a] the lighting in the car park near the main entrance is totally inefficient. It is dark and dangerous and b] the nurses/doctors station in Cranford Unit lower is in totally the wrong area. It should not be in a ward were patients can here every word that is being spoken. I am sure without too much cost a solution could be found elsewhere in this area.

Firstly I would like to thank you for your very positive comments regarding the treatment of your wife. I will ensure that your comments are passed onto the staff. You make a very useful comment regarding the location of Cranford nurses station. It is important that the nurses station is within easy access of patients. This is particularly important on Cranford due to the number of side rooms. I will ensure that all staff members on Cranford maintain patient confidentiality and always protect patient information. Thank you for highlighting the car park lighting. The Trust external lighting is currently be looked at and we hope to resolve this issue throughout the hospital shortly.
