"Very good and quick service"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

We were seen by a nurse within 5 minutes who performed blood tests and an ECG. Amazing service. We were seen by a doctor with 20 minutes who gave very sound advice. We had to wait a few hours for the blood tests however it was 9pm so to be expected. Great job to this hospital and the NHS, especially the nurses and doctor involved. Thank you Paul and Olga

Dear Paul and Olga Many thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback - I will ensure this is shared with the staff in A&E, as I am sure they will be delighted to hear that you were pleased with the service offered to you. Regarding waiting times, I apologise it took a few hours for your blood tests to be completed - this can happen at peak times when there are lots of urgent requests. We do regularly meet our 4 hour wait target (this is a government target we are required to meet - at least 95% of patients should be assessed within 4 hours), but we are aware that this is becoming more challenging. The staff are doing what they can to ensure all patients that require urgent care are properly assessed and treated in as short a timeframe as possible. Once again, let me thank you for taking time to provide your feedback - it is very valuable for us to hear what our patients think so we can continuously improve. I would also like to take the opportunity to wish you well and hope that you are recovering well. Kind Regards, Patient Experience Team, Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
