In October I underwent surgery for cancer of the oesophagus and I feel it only right that I should praise the level of care and compassion I received. From the moment I arrived until I was discharged I received a level of treatment I didn't think was possible in todays NHS. The surgical team led by the doctor who performed the operation were caring, informative and highly professional. The nursing staff in ICU were out of this world and after this I spent 4 days in HDU where the level of care was beyond belief I've never met such caring compassionate people in my life. The remainder of my stay was in ward 17 where again I was given constant care with nothing being too much trouble. There were daily visits from the surgical team. physiotherapists, dieticians and pain relief nurses, I truly believe that my level of treatment deserves special mention. I would like to thank surgeon and all members of staff that participated in my recovery.
"Exceptional treatment!"
