I have been visiting a patient for the past 4 weeks and am totally horrified by the lack of respect, dignity and care! A small number of staff are commendable however the rest need to be re-trained in their communication skills, caring roll and safeguarding skills! They need to treat patient like they would like to be treat themselves and how they would like their families to be treated! I have a list of issues/complaints which I am going to share with the CQC Inspection team! I wish I had the power to change the behaviour and attitude of some of the nursing staff! I feel I want to volunteer my time to reassure patients on all the wards that they are valued, cared for and respected and to try to not get upset when nurses are disrespectful and aggressive towards them!!! I have discussed with my family that if I am ever admitted to HRI and am in a very vulnerable/poorly situation and can't advocate for myself - they must stay with me to ensure I am properly cared for, respected and valued!!! Big changes need to be made at this hospital!!!!!!! This experience of mine started on the A & E ward the Assessment ward and then on ward 5.
"Nightmare!!!"
