"Thank you"

About: Lister Hospital

At about 8.00 am on Sunday morning my mother, aged 76, was taken ill with heat problems and an ambulance was called. She was admitted to A&E and after initial assessment (including x-rays) she was moved to one of the cardiac assessment areas for further tests. She was discharged just before midnight. Throughout her time in the Lister hospital my Dad and I and my wife were with mum. The paramedic team who attended her and the medical staff in the hospital were exemplary throughout. Mum was treated as a person rather than "another case" and told what was going on at all times - all very clearly explained. The medical staff were professional but "human" - its amazing what a difference it can make to be offered a cup of tea from time to time when you're ill or what time to expect blood test results. We, the family, were welcomed. Everyone we spoke to, without exception, (e.g. asking for directions) was helpful. At one point we asked a staff member to direct us to the vending machines and instead she made us a coffee. While we were there the ward, toilets and reception areas were cleaned several times - the place seemed spotless. Thank you to everyone.

Thank you so much for your feedback, which we will make sure reaches all the teams involved in your mother's care. We hope that she's now feeling better.
