"Maternity - ward 18 and labour ward"

To be honest I was initially very nervous about the care I may receive due to bad reviews I had heard about the hosptial however the care I recieved was exemplary. Unfortunately during my pregnancy I had to visit ward 18 a couple of times and the care was fantastic every time - I hoped when I was induced my care would be as good. When my induction day arrived, the midwives were amazing and I cannot say one bad word about them. They were able to explain what was going to happen each step of the way. During my induction the midwife was fantastic and even stayed after her shift to see my baby girl be born. The care I recieved after I had had my baby girl was brilliant. the midwives supported me with expressing milk and spent so much time trying to help me when it wasn't working for me. Time was not an issue and I really appreciated this individual support. I had 2 trainee midwives from Huddersfield university (who worked the evening 7/11/14) looking after me and their conduct, professionalism and care was amazing. I had to stay in hosptial for 24 hours after the birth and found the experience invaluable. As a first time mum no question or little worry was ever too much. I recieved so much helpful advice that I wish everybody could stay in hospital for 24 hours after having your baby to milk all the experience from the staff who were only too happy to help if you needed them. I could not recommend the wards and staff enough.
