"Fabulous caring staff helped me through my biggest..."

About: James Paget University Hospital

My phobia is anything to do with mouths, and unfortunately I had to have a growth removed from my tongue 20/11/14. I noticed just how clean the corridors were, and just how friendly all staff were. It was a marked difference from my experience 4 years ago. The receptionist for Oral Surgery greeted me with a warm smile. When I was called, I was so frightened I was nearly crying. Mouths and dentist chairs are my biggest phobia in the world. I cried and explained my fears. The nurse, dental nurse and surgeon were amazingly understanding and calming. Purely because of their empathy, understanding and encouragement did I even get in the chair. The nurse held my hand, the surgeon was encouraging and the dental nurse great. During the procedure I knew exactly what was going on as they explained it to me. I cannot speak highly enough about every staff member I came into contact with. You couldn't have been treated any better by a private hospital no matter how much you paid! Thank you is all I can say.
