I became unwell while eating a meal(beef),a piece of meat had lodged in my gullet and I was in moderate to severe pain/discomfort. My wife took me to A&E arriving around 2200 and I was seen within a few minutes by a nurse and then by a Consultant who examined me and arranged an x-ray very quickly. The Doctor explained that I should be admitted overnight and given a muscle relaxant that would hopefully shift the blockage. I was taken to Clandon ward very quickly and made comfortable. By the morning,as hoped, the problem had resolved itself and I was fine. I was discharged later that morning. I was most impressed by the calm efficiency of everyone I encountered in A&E and Clandon Ward. They were all so kind and reassuring - it made a huge difference. Thank you and well done.
