"A big thank you"

I really would like other patients to be encouraged by my feedback, as I have nothing but praise for the way the department of Gastroenterology conducted a colonoscopy. This took place in October 2008 and I then received a flexible sigmoidoscopy test in April 2009. Before the colonoscopy, there was a session with a specialist nurse who answered all my questions which greatly reassured me as I knew what to expect. At both procedures the staff at the above department were all very kind and helpful and handled with great sensitivity a somewhat embarrassing situation i.e. a bowel examination. Both times the procedures were explained, questions answered and the after care was also very good. So I am saying a big thank you to Dr. Sarah McCartney, Lisa and Judith and any other members of staff whose names I don’t know. It would be wonderful if this standard of care could be provided in all sectors of the NHS.
