"I've had a total lack of treatment"

About: Hull Teaching PCT

(as the patient),

I was referred for physio with shoulder trouble after an operation. I was told I should be seen in three weeks. After five weeks of hearing nothing I rang the physio department and was told I’d need to come in 12/14 weeks. I was then sent a sheet with exercises. What a nightmare! I have been treated with a total lack of courtesy; in fact I’ve had a total lack of treatment. My shoulder is getting worse and I’ve had to seek private treatment. I will be contacting PALS, but feel you should know about this publicly.

Dear Reflex294 Thank you for placing your experiences of the physiotherapy service on the Patient Opinion website. It is only by receiving feedback, both positive and negative, that we can ensure services meet the expectations of our residents. We are very sorry that our services appear to have fallen short of your expectations on this occasion. We hope that our PALS service was able to assist you with those difficulties and was able to resolve the matter for you. If you would like to become more involved in decisions about local healthcare, all local health Trusts are recruiting ‘members’. By becoming a member you can receive advice on keeping yourself and your family healthy, find out more about your local NHS and help us improve local services. You don’t need any special skills or experience to become a member, you just need to have an interest in your local NHS. There is no commitment, you can get involved as much or as little as you want to. For more information please either by email or telephone 01482 675165.
