"poor care"

About: Friarage Hospital Site

My Wife was admitted to the Friarage A&E on 28th October 2014 with acute abdo pain. She spent more then 24 hours in acute pain on Allerton ward because the general surgical team and the Gynae team could not agree on who it should be that should carry out her surgery. She was eventually taken to theatre at midnight on the 29th and returned to the ward at 2.30am having had a ruptured ovary removed. She was discharged home at 1pm the same day. Through out her stay the nurses where dismissive of her pain saying " just calm down, you.re being silly" and " you can't be in pain you've had morphine" She became ill again on the Friday evening and having called 111 I took her back to FHN for review on the Sunday as she had been vomiting for 24 hours. We saw a lovely GP who did her best to have her readmitted to Allerton ward but they refused to accept her or even to review her in the out patient s department and she had to be transferred to JCUH by a blue light ambulance where she was admitted to ward 11 and received excellent care. I feel that the priority was not treating her but using her in a game of internal politics between the two departments. We were at no time awkward or rude and did not feel that we deserved the cold uncaring treatment that she received. I am submitting this review as the one my wife tried to submit was rejected. She also admitted a very complimentary review of the other hospital she was admitted to with a recurrent problem the following week which has been accepted. I assume you do not like negative reviews
