My wife and I from Australia were holidaying in UK when she slipped on a stair and fell, breaking her leg. In response to our 999 call a paramedic arrived within 10 minutes and an ambulance within a further 10 minutes. After their expert on-site attention and pain relief, my wife was taken to Darent Valley Hospital. At DVH, my wife swiftly received specialist attention and x-rays that revealed a compound fracture adjacent to her existing hip prosthesis that required an operation that was carried out one week later. After the operation, my wife was cared for in hospital, then in repatriation and then as an out-patient. The surgery and care that my wife, who is 73, received was excellent throughout and led to a complete recovery after 8 weeks. We will always be grateful.
