"lack of care"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital

My Daughter recently gave birth at Oldham. I am ashamed to say that I work at this hospital as a midwife even though it was 20 years ago. During her pergancy she had pitting ++++ odema and was told this was not a worry !!! She then was induced almost 2 weeks past her dates,Had an dreadful time which resulted in an emergency caersaen section. I visited her 10 hours later in the labour ward and she was holding him in her arms in bed because they had no cot!! for him. He had no wrist or ankle name bands on, which i informed the midwife and the doctor off !!! When she was transferred to the post natal ward she was put in a 4 beded room and when she asked for Help with a crying babe less than 36 hrs after a spinal block ,the answer was NO !! nothing else just "no". she discharged her self less than 48 hrs post natal so at least her husband and family could help her at home. I know midwifery as changed in 20 yrs but for the worse it seems.
