I attended an appointment for an annual check up for coeliac disease from which I had had a very good year and had no major problems to report. I did however have a very painful “frozen shoulder” which was being treated by my GP. This information was revealed when I was asked if I was taking any medication as I was on a second course of anti-inflammatories and strong pain killers.
Even though this was nothing to do with my reason for attending the hospital appointment I was sent for a shoulder x-ray which was carried out immediately. I have nothing but praise for Professor Hawkey who has shown me the best possible care every time I have been seen as patient, and have complete faith in him.
