"Urology Delays stressfull"

About: Worthing Hospital

My husband is a bladder cancer patient and up to this year has had excellent treatment , However in may after biopsy's we heard nothing until a appointment arrived for July .We were told cancer cells in situ and some bcg treatment would be given and a follow up biopsy six weeks later , follow up results were taken and are still not back even tho we were told we would hear on the day , we are now nearly in December , the stress and sleepless nights through the cancellations and lack of follow up from the dept is awful , This is six months has been hell, .

We are very concerned to read your posting about your poor experience of our urology services and would like to ensure that your husband’s care is progressing appropriately. We have also passed this feedback to the managers for the service so that they can investigate your case. As your feedback is anonymous we do not have your details and so would be grateful if you would contact our PALS department so that they can support you to raise your concerns. You can do this by visiting our website www.westernsussexhospitals.nhs.uk/contacts/pals/, or calling our PALS department on 01903 285032 or emailing us at PALSWorthing@wsht.nhs.uk . Please accept our sincere apologies for our poor service and communication.
