"worst experience ever!!!"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

My water broke at 4am. 36 weeks pregnant as I preciously had a premature baby at 25 weeks I was very anxious. I phoned up the labour ward and spoke to a lovely women who told me to make my way into hospital and if I wasn't having any pains not to worry. I got to the hospital after waiting over an hour was put on a monitor, baby was doing fine after been checked over by doctor was told I wasn't in active labour everything was fine. At 7 o'clock in the morning I started having slight pain and was checked over by the doctor again told nothing was happening but taken down to labour ward. By 11 clock I was having regular very painful contractions. My partner went out to get a midwife to ask if I could have some pain relief he spoke to the sister who very arrogantly told him I wasn't in labour I couldn't have no pain relief he was mortified how the women spoke to him he only went to try and get some help. After hours of pain I buzzed the midwife and told her i wanted to see a doctor and if they wouldn't bring me one I would get up and leave and go to a different hospital to make sure my baby is ok. A male doctor came to see me and told me that if he was to check me their would be a risk to my baby of infection but with nobody believing I was having contractions I had to agree. He checked me I was 6cm dialated. My baby arrived very soon after. With the same sister coming in to see me and turning the heartbeat monitor off which was checking my baby! On arriving on ward 18 after having my son they were terrible my baby was on antibiotics for five days, with me having to constantly remind the midwifes he was due some, often them turning up hours late to give him them. He was meant to be on 4 hourly observations these were never done. Just a totally horrible experience couldn't wait to have my child home so I new we were safe. Midwifes here are very snappy, arrogant and make you feel absolutely terrible in what was meant to be one of the happiest times. Would never recommend this hospital to anybody
