I've only been home for about 2 1/2 hours after staying overnight on ward 5 bay 4 for a mastoidectomy. From start to finish all staff (from the nurses, to the cleaners) were friendly, warm, caring & very helpful. One nurse in particular was externally helpful, careing & cheerful even treating those of us who where lucky enough to be on bay 4 a little sing - song. Like I said from start to finish all staff were friendly, warm, caring & very helpful, the only criticism I have is I had to keep reminding them I needed a fit note (I asked the nurse when I arrived on the ward yesterday and was told to ask the doctor when he came to see me before my op - which I did, he said it would be sorted for me. Then on way to surgey the surgeon who took me down said he'd get one sorted. Then I asked again before I went to sleep, then again another 3 times before finally being given one just before I was discharged) - this was only a small inconvenience, and I know how busy all staff are so must say massive thank you to all nurses, doctors & surgeons who treated me while I was in - all these staff are a credit to the NHS
